The publication reminds that the reason for a new exacerbation of relations between Greece and Turkey were offshore hydrocarbon deposits and the absence of a border in the water area.

According to the publication, the likelihood of hostilities in the southeastern part of Europe increases due to the fact that other states intervene in the confrontation: France is on the side of Athens, as well as Italy, which, according to the publication, secretly supports Ankara.

An international military-technical forum "Army-2020" is expected to open in the Moscow region this weekend. "The Antey-4000 anti-aircraft missile system is being demonstrated for the first time. It will be an application on the world market for long-range air defense systems with the possibility of implementing an anti-missile defense function. In addition to air targets, Antey-4000 will be capable of destroying operational-tactical missiles," the chief believes. Igor Korotchenko, editor of the National Defense magazine. The new system can shoot down air targets, such as fighters, up to 380 kilometers away, which can be considered a phenomenal result, he added.  

As  reported  by the VZGLYAD newspaper, the Antey-4000 anti-aircraft missile system consists of 9A83M-2E and 9A84M-1E launchers, as well as 9M83ME and 9M82ME guided missiles. The Army-2020 International Military-Technical Forum will be held on August 23-29 in the Patriot Military-Patriotic Park at the Kubinka airfield, Alabino and Ashuluk training grounds and in the districts. The business program will include over 170 events. Korotchenko stressed that the most interesting novelties will be shown at the part of the exposition, which is closed from the press, without excluding that elements of the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system will also be shown - in this case, this will be the second sensation of the forum. "At this stage, the development is classified. There is no official data on its capabilities, but, probably, the system can destroy targets even in near space - at an altitude of up to 300 kilometers. That is, the S-500 will take over the functions of a strategic missile defense. In parallel, it capable of shooting down any targets from drones to intercontinental ballistic missiles, "the source said.

Iran showed a new ballistic missile

The Iranian Armed Forces have developed a new ballistic missile, the tests of which were broadcast on Thursday by the IRIB Broadcasting Corporation.

Moscow. August 20. Interfax - Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov is discussing preparations for the Kavkaz-2020 strategic command-and-staff exercises during a working trip to the troops of the Southern Military District, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

"Today we will hear reports on the progress of the second stage of special exercises and during the work at the training grounds we will assess the practical actions of troops and forces," the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry quotes Gerasimov.

According to the Chief of the General Staff, "the result of the complex of special exercises should be the creation of conditions for the unconditional fulfillment of combat training tasks by the troops and the successful conduct of the Kavkaz-2020 command and control command," Interfax said on Thursday.

According to the Russian military department, "since August 10, special exercises on the types of support for the RF Armed Forces have been continuing on the territory of the Southern Military District."
